This hat, a pattern called Alaskan Dusk Hat, worked up quickly, and I finished it in only a few days. The stitch pattern of the body was easy to remember, and time passed quickly as I worked row after row.
The hat body is crocheted flat, then sewn into a tube. Stitches are picked up at one end for the crown and at the other for the band. Picking up stitches in crochet is something I find more difficult than doing so in knitting, but I successfully completed the hat, and I think it looks fantastic!

I crocheted the hat in Loops & Threads Impeccable yarn in light gray, a Michaels exclusive. The pattern is from the book Crochet In a Day: 42 Fast and Fun Projects by Salena Baca.
I'm happy with the way it turned out, and will definitely turn to this book for more projects!
